Mel grew up in Opotiki and returned from completing her university studies to join the firm in 1998.  She qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2002 and attained her Certificate of Public Practice in 2018 and is now an associate partner and one of our most senior team members.   Along with her responsibilities to clients,  she fulfils the Practice Manager role, being responsible for the smooth running of the firm and for ensuring that the Partners and team work efficiently and to the highest standards. 

Over her 20 year accounting career, she has gained a formidable range of expertise and experience, is an excellent problem solver, and enjoys working with clients and the team to understand complicated tax or financial issues.

Mel resides in Opotiki with husband Dean and their two daughters.
